Cold email closing lines, as the name indicates are the last lines of your cold email. They are usually link to your cold email call to action (CTA).
What are bad cold email closing lines?
Bad cold email closing lines are like Netflix series whose episodes end without suspense. They are not intriguing and don't motivate you to go to the next episode.
What are good cold email closing lines?
Good cold email closing lines are like top Netflix series. At the end of every episodes, you want to quickly see the next one.
In cold email terms, it means your prospects want to learn more about your offer once they read your closing lines. You intrigued them enough.
2. Why cold email closing lines are important?
Cold email closing lines influence your reply rate and give the tone of your sales pitch.
They influence your response rate
Your reply rate is mainly influenced about the quality of your offer and if it is addressed to the right people.
Cold email closing lines help boosting that response rate by using clear call to actions (CTAs).
They give the tone of your sales pitch
If your cold email closing lines propose to give your prospects value instead of wanting to absolutely sell something, it's a good sign.
On the opposite, if you're super sales pushy with your closing lines, prospects will spot that instantly.
3. How to write performing cold email closing lines
Writing performing closing lines is easy, let's see how.
Keep it short and straight to the point
Keep your closing lines short, a cold email shouldn't have in total more than 100 words. Attention span of prospects is low, so you only have a few words to make the difference?
Example of a long closing line:
"If the above interest you David, I can propose you a few dates so we can call each other about how we can take your business to the next level."
Example of a shorter version:
"Hope you relate with the above David, worth a chat?"
Use CTAs in your closing lines
Call to Actions (CTAs) are set of words that invite your prospect to perform specific actions, like booking a call or checking your website.
Cole email CTAs are usually questions that you ask after exposing your value proposition (offer/sales pitch). Why questions? Because it will give your cold email a structure and will stand out.
Don't forget to use PS lines
From my perspective, PS lines are the true closing lines as if they're used, they are the last lines in your cold email.
The use of PS lines is a smart one to add some layer of personalization or to make a specific information about your sales pitch stand out.
4. My personal process about Cold Email Closing Lines
My process on cold email closing lines is pretty simple, I use 1 CTA and a PS line tailored to the location of my prospecting list or to the technology they use.
1/ I use a simple CTA closing line
Nothing fancy here, I use a quick yet effective closing line that only has 3 words: worth a chat?
2/ I use a PS line linked to the location of my segmented prospecting list
It's such a simple move to execute. You can see in the below image how I've done it with a real case example.
